• Antimicrobial “Healthcare” White: Unique to the white model, the housing is made with nShield® antimicrobial plastic, a broad-spectrum antibacterial agent. This makes it “disinfectant-ready,” allowing it to be washed with common household cleaners without degrading the plastic, which is critical for healthcare and food service.
• Star Hub Integration: Unlike generic scanners, this unit is designed for direct plug-and-play with Star’s mC-Print and mPOP® systems. When plugged into a Star printer’s USB port, the printer acts as a communications hub, sending scanner data to the host tablet or computer via the printer’s own interface (LAN, Bluetooth, or Lightning).
• 6 Intelligent Scanning Modes: It offers more granular control than typical “manual vs. auto” scanners:
  • Pulse Mode: Scanning stays active after a trigger release until a barcode is decoded or a timeout occurs.
  • Batch Mode: Keeps the scanner active as long as the trigger is held, allowing for rapid sequential scans of different items.
  • Sense Mode: Uses ambient light monitoring to wake the scanner only when an object is presented.
• Dual Communication (BT Model): The wireless BSH-HR2081BT model supports two distinct wireless paths: it can connect directly to a host (like an iPad) via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) or use its provided USB dongle to connect wirelessly to a Star printer.
